This topic is particularly close to my heart as my background is a paper one! I use to work for GF Smith; the paper merchants. GF Smith specialise in the unusual papers and the more expensive papers. These tend to be coloured and textured papers that give a subtle or instant impact for a classy and/or eye catching piece of print. These papers are not usually used for large runs of print or mass printing but for annual report and accounts, business cards, letterhead stationery, invitations and wedding stationery. Papers that are uncoated are usually more expensive but they give a certain quality to the print that you just cannot achieve with a coated paper.
Sentio works on many different design and print projects and we are careful when recommending papers. We look at the design and match the papers accordingly. We give our clients a full range of papers to chose from with different textures, colours and finishes. We offer this to every client that requires printed marketing collateral. We also trial designs for brochure printing or business card printing on different papers so our clients can see how their design work with different paper stocks.
Sentio also offers a free dummy and sample service where we can make a brochure up using the chosen papers required for the print job. This gives our clients a good feel for their project and helps them understand what the print will feel and look like.
Paper can really lift a print project such as an annual report printing, postcard printing or quality printed business cards. I think we all have received brochures/leaflets/business cards that are printed on flimsy paper or badly finished or just feel so thin that all the print shows through the other side? Well, good paper will stop that, it lifts the print and enhances colour and imagery. Whilst uncoated papers are more expensive they do give value for money as anyone receiving the print will keep the print and remember it. Sentio produced a marketing campaign on Boutique SoSilk a pink paper made from silk originally made for Dolce and Gabbana. The card was eye catching and felt just like silk really wonderfully tactile. The business we received from this promotion was immense; working with global brands and producing large direct mail print and POS from this campagin.
If you would like to see samples of papers or have some dummies made up for a print project then we can supply all of these. Or if you would like a coffee and a chat about your next projects please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org
